MILO has been building champions for the country ever since its Philippine debut in 1964. They also believe in the importance of grassroots development. That's why for almost 34 years, Milo has been establishing annual events not just to encourage future champions to get into sports but also to make a difference. A difference through running! :) Through a MARATHON!
It has been 34 years since MILO organized a marathon. A marathon for a cause. Not just simply for fun or competition, but most importantly to help children have their running shoes.
It was my pleasure and honor to be a part of this 34th National Milo Marathon that had just finished a while ago at the Quirino Grand Stand. I was with my Auntie and Cousins who also joined the race. We had 5km run, that had started at around 6am. And woooalaa! I am proud to say that I am a FINISHER. I finished the race at 51mins and 28secs. Well, not so bad for a first timer and a not so athletic person like me. HAHA! and as they said: KAYA MO YAN. and yea, KINAYA KO NGA! :)))))
It was a light feeling for me doing that act. I was so Happy. It was so EPIC. Knowing that, what I did could put a smile on the faces of the less fortunate children and could make their Christmas a MERRIER ONE! :))
And because we got what it takes to be the best, We will not give up and we'll keep going. We'll keep the fire burning. We'll keep changing other people's lives in our small individualized way. Cause, GREAT THINGS START FROM SMALL BEGINNINGS. Imagine that, by just participating with this kind of events you could do great things like you could not expect.
I was so happy, honored and privileged by this once in a lifetime event.
I am wishing to be a part of the 35th National Milo Marathon next year and make every sweat counts! :)))
